Poetry Prompt: Profound Sounding Nonsense

This post is part of a series of weekly found poetry prompts. If you have an idea for a found poetry source, email Senior Poetry Editor Beth Ayer. Image by Alex Dram.

It can be difficult to know where to begin.

But let us start by acknowledging that dogma is the antithesis of joy. That the nexus is beaming with pulses. And that you and I are dreamweavers of the infinite . . .

First, please admire that solid use of ellipsis. Thank you. OK now let’s poetry prompt.

This week, Jenni Baker tipped me off to the New Age Bullshit Generator. If you have followed the FPR blog at all, you know we love this sort of thing. When you first enter the site, you’ll get a brief explanation of the motivation of the generator (satire of course) and how it works. Clicking “reionize electrons” at the top generates new-age-sounding text. Clicking again re-generates. And so on.

Prompt: Write a poem that makes sense out of the auto generated new age text. Remember, as the generator wisely notes, anything is possible.
