If there’s one thing writers are good at, it’s tweeting. Perhaps sometimes, we’re too good at it. This week, Creative Review featured a novel titled Working on My Novel by American artist Cory Arcangel. The novel consists of tweets containing the phrase “working on my novel” that were appropriated by Arcangel and ordered to form the book’s story line.
In one sense it’s a book about distraction. Many of the tweeters are keen to list (blame?) the things that are keeping them from working on their novel: films, cafes and drinking feature. (This would also have to include being on Twitter).
