Today, JAB Magazine of Flagstaff, AZ took a step into the found poetry universe by releasing a special, online issue of all found poems. Check it out here! You’ll definitely see some familiar names from the FPR community.
The point is, we went nuts over this old desk with somebody else’s memories all over it, and went through hell to get it home. Now it’s covered in cigarette ash, coffee spillage, and supreme stickers. We made it ours. Found poetry is so much like that. The poets in this issue sampled everything from Facebook to the daily news. Through assloads of hard work and ingenuity, they took these words and made them new, exciting, and incredibly personal.
I’m intrigued by end-of-year lists. One of my favorites is the Merriam-Webster Top 10 Words of the Year. I also stumbled across the Oxford Dictionary’s word of the year. Can you guess it? ………………………….. Did you say “vape?” Yup. Vape. Read more here.
